VASER Hi Def Lipo-sculpturing is a minimally invasive procedure that precisely and efficiently removes unwanted body fat.

Who are good candidates for high-definition liposuction:
- The best candidates for hi-def liposuction are those patients with a BMI in the normal range.
- Good skin quality (minimal or no laxity).
- Who already lead a healthy lifestyle but want to be rid of problem fat pockets.
- Hi-Definition Liposuction is an ideal treatment for men and women looking to eliminate stubborn pockets of fat from their bodies.
Consultation
During your complimentary consultation your surgeon will review your medical history, discuss your treatment goals, and examine you to determine if high-definition liposuction is suitable for you. You should be under a BMI of 32 before you seek 4D Lipo treatment and inform the doctor during the consultation if you have recently undergone significant weight loss.
Procedure
The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, (awake), IV sedation, or general.
First the area to be reshaped is filled with a special saline solution that helps numb the area and shrink the blood vessels (to minimize blood loss and reduce bruising). This solution (called tumescent solution) wets and fills the area to be treated, making it easier to break up fatty tissue with the VASER Systems ultrasound energy. Next a small probe transmits sound energy (like that used for cataract removal from the eye) to fragment fatty tissue on contact while leaving other important tissues largely intact.
Finally, the liquefied fat is removed through a gentle suction process designed to minimize damage to the surrounding tissues. Then the muscle structures are chiseled out. For example, the six pack finishing touches requires that special techniques are used to define the transverse tendinous insertions (lines between the six pack muscles), the Linea alba (separation line between the two sides of the six pack), and Linea semilunaris (outer border line of the at the sides of the six pack).
Risks of Hi‑Def Liposuction: What to Know
Is it safe?
Hi-Def Liposuction has fewer risks than traditional liposuction. The incision is a mere one to two centimeters, and the fat is removed without pulling and tearing. The incision is closed after the treatment with sutures that will dissolve over time, so you will not need to come back for removal of the sutures. Generally, The procedure is safe for adults of any skin tone who are in good health.
Is Hi‑Def Liposuction Painful? What to Expect
Typically, you will be awake during a VASER liposuction procedure. You may feel a bit of pressure initially, but the procedure is minimally invasive and virtually painless. In terms of discomfort after, you’ll feel a little bit of muscle soreness for 24-48 hours, and much less swelling and bruising than alternative fat removal procedures. The level of pain a person experiences post-procedure can depend on overall health, areas treated, and the technical skill of your surgeon.
Recovery
Downtime varies by procedure and patient, but it typically entails two to five days at home. Patients must wear compression garments 24/7 for the first two to four weeks and should expect some bruising and soreness. Most patients feel up to light exercise at the two-week mark and can hit the gym by one-month post-op. Full restrictions are lifted after six weeks.
Hi‑Def Liposuction Results and Outcomes
The results of your VASER liposuction are usually best seen after several weeks. Your treated areas should look great and retain their sculptured appearance for as long as you remain the same weight. If you gain weight, you will generally gain it in areas other than those that were treated. You will notice an immediate change in your body after the Hi-Def Lipo procedure, but it may take up to 12 months for the results to reach their peak. Fat reduction will be immediate and will improve in the weeks following the treatment. Your skin will tighten for three to six months after the treatment, and you will see skin laxity subside. Muscle tone will also improve in the months following the treatment as fat is reduced and skin becomes firm.
Things to keep in mind:
- The fat removal from the procedure is permanent. The fat cells are removed from the body and eliminated so they will not regenerate. Fat growth in the treated area of the body is significantly decreased as there are fewer fat cells. This does not mean that you will no longer need to diet and exercise, however. Patients who live a healthy lifestyle after their treatment experience prolonged results and the best appearance. Untreated areas of the body will still experience normal fat growth.
- Skin tightness after the procedure is not permanent. You will see skin tightness increase over several months, and then the tightness will begin to fade about a year after the procedure, depending on your lifestyle and age. You should avoid sun exposure and keep your skin healthy to maintain tightness as long as possible. If needed, skin tightening treatments can help prolong the results.
