Botox Table of Contents The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, sometimes referred to as “Botox” by patients, is a popular injectable that temporarily reduces or eliminates facial fine lines and wrinkles.
A thread lift, sometimes referred to as a “lunchtime lift,” uses absorbable, barbed sutures to offer a tighter, more youthful aesthetic appearance to the face and neck.
This minimally invasive procedure works by stimulating the production of collagen in the skin in order to produce healthier, firmer skin. It can also mechanically lift tissues where the barbed sutures are placed.
A thread lift procedure can be beneficial for both men and women who are:

As with any other medical procedure, thread lifts come with some side-effects. However, they are minimal when compared to other facelift treatments. It is a low-risk procedure, but the following side-effects can be seen in candidates:
You will be asked to sign consent forms to ensure that you fully understand the procedure and any risks and potential complications.
While minimally-invasive, thread lift procedures are not entirely pain-free. Generally, this is not painful, but that is a highly variable answer because some patients are more sensitive than others. Patients who are anxious can receive oral sedation. Local anesthetics are required and can be painful during the infiltration process. Over time threads can migrate and the barbs can irritate nerves thereby making them painful at a much later date.
The recovery period is usually short, and you can get back to your normal activities almost immediately. You will start noticing the results in subsequent days and weeks once the bruising and swelling start subsiding.
Please remember not to rub your skin vigorously after the treatment and try not to sleep on your side for a couple of weeks following the procedure. This is advised so that you don’t accidentally roll over your newly placed sutures.
It is also wise to avoid high-intensity workouts and saunas for around two weeks after the treatment.
Results should be apparent right after the threads are put into place, but you may notice more in the days and weeks right after they are inserted, as swelling and bruising starts to subside.
Results from a thread lift aren’t meant to be permanent. Successful effects typically last from 1 to 3 years. Like other dissolvable dermal fillers, such as Botox, the threads used in the procedure will eventually be absorbed by the tissue underneath your skin.
It also offers immediate results without the downtime or scarring that occurs with a surgical facelift procedure. If you desire natural-looking results for firmer skin, then a thread lift may be the right procedure for you.
A thread lift is a non-surgical procedure. Therefore, you might not get as dramatic results from it as you would probably get from a surgical procedure. However, you are in more control of this procedure, which makes it a safer option.
Sometimes, you have to take a couple of thread lift sessions to get the desired results. It is also recommended to combine thread lifts with other anti-aging procedures, such as Ultherapy, Botox, or Filler to derive maximum benefits.
